G. James Daichendt discusses how Street Art has quickly become the most relevant visual art movement since Pop Art. The influence of its practitioners and visibility of their work show no signs of slowing down. This lecture will acquaint viewers with a brief history of street art with its main proponents, in relation to contemporary art and culture. Daichendt serves as Professor of Art History and Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities at Point Loma Nazarene University. He is the author of multiple books including Shepard Fairey Inc., Artist/Professional/Vandal; Stay Up! Los Angeles Street Art; and Kenny Scharf: In Absence of Myth.
